I am continually exercising finding a balance of control and chaos in my life, which I rehearse in my art making process. Constantly oscillating between manipulating fluid and structured mediums, I use the process of art making as a way to cope with my life and the world around me. I am attracted to the fluidity of paint and the ease of mark-making with a brush. The unpredictability of allowing paint to drip on the canvas excites me. Structure and restraint comes with the use of ink and pencil. Though I typically plan how I want a final product to look, I allow myself to be encouraged by the process, as I practice the art of coping with the inevitable mistakes.
