“Patterns and plants will inform a new generation of designers, thinkers, doers and believers.”
SARAH ASHLEY BAXENDELL is an ecological designer trained in Sustainable Design from the Fashion Institute in NY and Permaculture Design from the Bioregional Center for Permaculture Living. Her work focuses on the confluence of ecology, landscape and urbanism, producing innovative design for social good.
Baxendell’s work stretches through multiple mediums, expressing the pattern language of nature, and addressing the root causes of climax ecology – global social inequality. Her work focuses on technological and design solutions to create strategic shifts in communities, and reflects her global upbringing.
Baxendell is an accomplished artist, jewelry designer, dancer and community organizer, who believes that patterns and plants will inform a new generation of designers, thinkers, doers and believers. She runs ‘Corner Alchemy,’ a planetary herbology apothecary. Her most recent project is a plant identification app, Naming Nature.
Baxendell is a brand strategist, grant writer, graphic designer, educator, and project manager, with 15 years of experience in costuming, photography, art direction and design.
