My work is an attempt to access the floating arena between physical and psychological space. Realized using a combination of digital and material processes, the works reflect a desire to visually synthesize the places we inhabit with the experiences we’ve encountered there.
Often intimate yet anonymous, the images explore unmarked borders between perception and memory, presence and absence, arousal and fear. By layering the languages of digital photography and abstraction, I hope to create images that oscillate wildly from the real to the simulated to the imagined and back again.
Elizabeth was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1989 and grew up in Mahwah, New Jersey. In 2008 she began attending Carnegie Mellon University's School of Art where painting and digital photography became the foundation for her practice. She lives in Bloomfield and is part of an emerging community of artists working at Radiant Hall in Lawrenceville.
