I am a visual artist who is moved by light, color, and humor. Most of the art that I create is two-dimensional, typically using acrylic on canvas or paper. I tend to lean towards striking imagery and bold colors, because those are the things that really catch my eye and make painting fun.
Furthermore, many of my pieces have a bit of a weird twist to them, because I like to be able to have a laugh at my paintings. It is a medium that allows my odd sense of humor to shine through. And it also helps me to be able to focus on my paintings and see them through.
I used to do this only as a hobby and as a way to express myself, but over the past couple of years it has slowly morphed into my primary focus, and I'm really enjoying being able to explore my medium and find new ways to express myself.
Andy Miller is a Pittsburgh-based visual artist who focuses on acrylic painting. Most of the art is done in a very pop art/modern art style with very bold and striking imagery. Often, paintings are limited in their color. He will sometimes paint a full image in only 3 or 4 shades of a color. Many of his pieces also have an unusual aspect to them to give each piece an aspect of humor, as well.
He has spent much of the past decade traveling to different parts of the world and gaining influence from many experiences and artists which he encounters on the way. This is his artistic education.
