As a painter, muralist, and educator, Leslie Ansley has practiced her passion for art nearly 20 years. She worked with the Sprout Fund Murals Program, the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, Pittsburgh Public Schools, and many other local schools and community organizations in the region.
Nationally, Leslie participated in premier fine art exhibitions alongside the works of world renowned artists such as Romare Bearden, Elizabeth Catlett and Jacob Lawrence. Notable exhibitions include The National Black Fine Arts Show in New York City, the African-American Museum in Philadelphia, and The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
Ms. Ansley's talents have been showcased in the local press, on talk shows, and on news programs. She was also featured in two films, one on the lives of artists by acclaimed videographer, Chris Ivey, and the PBS Documentary, "It's the Neighborhoods."
Recently, her art was featured in a book honoring Oprah Winfrey, in commemoration of her television network, OWN. Leslie was also a featured muralist in the PBS documentary, “It’s the Neighborhoods”.
