To study and capture on canvas the life of a soul, the beauty and light of a subject, and the details and order of His creation brings me much joy and delight. I enjoy the opportunity to impart on canvas a window into another soul, to share the story of a unique personality, and to paint a thoughtful and lovely moment.
A Fine Artist with a focus on Portraiture and Still Life, Shari Finney, desires to reflect God's beauty, light, and creation. A 2012 Richeson 75 International Figure/Portrait Finalist, and 2010 Paint America Top 100 Artist, Shari exhibits nationally and regionally, and paints in western PA where she has won various awards including Best of Show.
A former commercial artist, Finney took a worthwhile hiatus to raise her family, and has gradually to painting over the past ten years as her favorite models leave the nest.
An Alumna of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Shari, is a Signature Member of The Pittsburgh Pastel Artists League. She is also a member of the Cranberry Artists Netork and an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America. Her work is found in private collections and the Fine Art Sales Gallery of The Butler Institute of American Art and Amica in Ligonier.
