I am inspired by two schools of painting; Impressionism and the muralists of the WPA movement.  In fact many of my large paintings in recent years have been for community projects.  I enjoy painting nature and animals and have found a niche painting portraits of pets in settings that are meaningful to the owners.  I am hoping to expand my work into more public art and I have worked on some projects that will create both public art and fundraising for my community.

Eileen Sieff Stroup has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama Design from Carnegie-Mellon University.  She worked for 17 years in the Motion Picture industry as a wardrobe supervisor and Costume Designer in Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles.  Eileen has  created community art as a Penn State Master Gardener and for several other organisations for the past 10 years. Eileen began painting animal portraits by commission in 2008.  She has donated work to several non-profits for fundraising.

Eileen currently works in the Pittsburgh film industry as a costumer and teaches painting at the Butler Art Center
