Traduzione/ Translation is a suite of 16 color photographs, 40"x40", that visually explores my interpretations of various interior emotional states of being, such as anger, compassion, longing, emptiness, etc. - the experience of which can vary widely from one person to the next, and from one language to the next. To create these images I made extreme enlarged & degraded portions of each word (the black figure in each piece). Each textured background is created from a negative I made with a lipstick impression, onto a piece of plastic film, from a part of my body where I feel that particular emotion.
