The fingerprints in the series were taken from Palestinian children in the West Bank (this one is from a young girl). They are magnified and textured with imagery of the earth surrounding their home. The father and older children from the extended family protest every week at the Separation Wall as it has cut off their town from 60% of the land its citizens once cultivated. The fingerprint is one of the simplest indicators of identity, here merged with earth and stones from the fields of Bil’in.
